Many parts of Vidarbha including the city experienced drizzle on Friday evening. However, the neighbouring states in south India like
Andhra Pradesh reported heavy downpour. Ruling out possibilities of heavy rainfall in the region, director regional meteorological office P N Nandankar said that only a few districts in Vidarbha would witness a few showers. However, Friday's rain are likely to lower the temperature.
According to the forecast of IMD, in the coming five days i.e. October 3 to 7, Nagpur district may witness 14.8 mm rainfall. Bhandara is likely to witness 13.4 mm rainfall. Similarly, Wardha may witness 12.4 mm, Chandrapur 22.6 mm, Gadchiroli 16.4 mm and Gondia 12.2 mm.
Nandankar, however, pointed out that the BSNL's broadband connection of 250 kbps at RMO is not functioning for the last couple of days. Besides, the telecommunication line of the office is also out of order from Thursday. He further alleged that despite repeated complaints, BSNL has failed to act swiftly. Moreover, on Thursday we had also faxed a message to the GM office but no action had been taken so far.
