Cops take guard in city

The city police's final round of preparation to be able to conduct a free and fair election took another fruitful step ahead with the
paramilitary forces like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and 700 home guards being deployed at various police stations.

It was learnt that city police chief Praveen Dixit, who supervised the distribution, ensured that the forces were evenly distributed at the police stations depending upon the sensitivity of the polling booths. Tehsil police also conducted a routine marching exercise as a confidence building measure between the sensitive Ganjipeth and Golibar Chowk areas. Personnel from the crime branch would be also sent for election duty.

Around 18 squads, each having a team of 13 personnel, have been assigned to nine officers of the rank of assistant commissioners of police rank for round the clock election duty.
