Naidu favours setting up of unified command to tackle Naxals

Nagpur , Oct 8 Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today favoured setting up a unified command of security forces to tackle the naxal menace in the country.
"The state police are fighting the naxals within their jurisdiction and naxals cross from one state to another after carrying out violent activities,"Naidu, who was here to campaign party candidates, told reporters.

He charged the Centre lacks political will to fight the naxals as it is a political challenge.

Naidu criticised Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for his remarks that government was willing to talk to naxals.

" What is the use since Naxalites are demanding share in power. Will the government agree to it?"he said, adding naxals are running a parallel system which is not acceptable.

On the price rise of essential commodities, Naidu alleged the Centre does not have a mechanism to deal with rising prices.
