The DTE was flooded with hundreds of grievances, especially from the candidates clearing the AIEEE who are having 15% quota, causing the deferment of publishing final merit list for first year.
Director of technical education SK Mahajan confirmed that they had deferred the release of final merit list owing to receipt of many grievances. "The candidates coming from AIEEE background had failed to fill up the forms properly, hence we had asked them to fill it again," he stated.
Sources, however, said this was not the only reason for postponing the merit list. As many as 39 new engineering colleges were granted permission this academic year in Maharashtra and their names are being considered.
