Mumbai:-Students asked to submit forms after deadline

Around 7,0000 students who had not submitted their application forms have been asked to submit their forms after deadline.

The first merit list has to be announced today by colleges. The deadline for the form submission was July 7.

Students were asked by the education department and Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd (MKCL) to submit their forms on Monday.

Several of outstation students came to submit forms. But the link for uploading the forms had already closed.

"We accepted the forms, but several of students have complaint that the centres near their homes refused to accept their forms," said T. A Shiware, principal of Hinduja College. He is also the core member of the online admission process.

V. K. Wankhede, deputy director of school education, said "We sent text messages to students asking them to submit their forms on Monday. Several students had secured admission in minority quota or the management quota and did not bother to submit the forms." All colleges and submission centres were notified on Monday that if students who hadn't submitted their form reported for submission, centres should take it and inform them that their application would be considered for the second merit list.
