A new scam in Nagpur University has come to the fore with the Katol police detaining 3 persons. Some touts had reportedly assured some
students to help them clear the BPEd exam without their even appearing for the examination in lieu of a fat sum. The affected students met pro-vice chancellor GS Parasher on Saturday with the audio tapes who immediately swung into action. Parasher shot off a letter to the Katol police to investigate into the matter.
Even commissioner of police Praveen Dixit and other senior police personnel visited the university on Saturday. Such was the security that no one, including media persons and university staff, was allowed to enter or exit the premises for three hours when the complainant students held discussions with Parasher.
The police are reportedly on lookout of a person named Chavan who is said to be kingpin of the scam. SP (rural) Chhagan Wakode is monitoring the situation and a complaint will be formally registered on Sunday. Meanwhile,Parasher admitted that BPEd scam was indeed big in proportion.
