GOOD NEWS 4 ENGINEERING ASPIRENT IN MAHARASHTRA

In some good news for engineering aspirants in Maharashtra, the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has given approval for
over 4,000 new seats in 73 existing engineering colleges in
Maharashtra. Presently, there are 226 engineering colleges in the state offering bachelor's and masters degrees in engineering.

According to highly reliable sources, the Delhi-based apex body for technical education in India has also sanctioned about 3,000 MBA and MCA seats in these existing engineering institutions across the state.

Many colleges affiliated to Nagpur University have also got approval for new seats and branches. Around 16 colleges coming under the university have got sanction for increased intake, especially in branches like electronics, civil and electrical. The total number of seats increased in these colleges is over 1,000.

Also, over a thousand new MBA seats have been added in most engineering colleges, thus giving a major boost to management education in Nagpur division.

AICTE has also given a nod to Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses and MTech courses in many colleges, including NYSS and Nuva engineering colleges in the city. KDK College of Engineering got additional seats for MTech course.

Sources added that Nagpur city has received the highest number of seats in the state with over a thousand seats followed by Pune, Aurangabad and Mumbai.
