Rain, air strike threaten Irani tie

The Irani Trophy tie between Mumbai and Rest of India is threatened by the prospect of
rain.

It's been raining here intermittently the last few days with rain making an appearance even on Monday evening, leaving a wet outfield in its wake. The Mumbai team, which arrived here late, struggled to get proper practice.

However, it was worse for the Virender Sehwag-led Rest of India squad. The strike by Air India pilots has hit the team hard. Flight cancellations meant the team is yet to arrive in the city in full numbers. Only three players made it to Nagpur on Tuesday afternoon while Sehwag arrived late in the evening. The rest of the squad is scheduled to arrive less than 24 hours before the match.

Sreesanth, Munaf Patel and Ravindra Jadeja were the only Rest players to arrive on Tuesday. "I have been informed that the remaining players will arrive by Wednesday afternoon," local manager, Prasad Bhage, said.
