Two men died in the wee hours on Friday after their two-wheeler hit a stationary truck on Amarnagar road, opposite Pankaj Polymer, under
the jurisdiction of the MIDC police. The victims, Revchand Chaudhari (30) and Yeshwant Waghade (28), were both residents of Amarnagar.
According to police, the victims admitted Chaudhari's sister to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital and were on their way home when the incident occurred. Chaudhari was riding the vehicle, while Waghade was the pillion rider when their vehicle hit a fully-loaded stationary truck which was parked in the middle of the road. Because of darkness and parking lights which were off, the truck was not visible. The vehicle had developed some technical problem.
The duo suffered severe head injuries after hitting the truck from the opposite direction. They were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). By then, it was too late. After the post-mortem was performed, the bodies were handed over to their families.
Waghde was a labourer, while Chaudhari was a plumber in a private company. Chaudhari is survived by his wife and two children, while Waghde, who was living in a rented place, has his parents and three brothers. MIDC cops have taken truck driver, Kunal Gore (24) into custody.
