The Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University (SGAU) has withheld the results of over 1,200 BEd students due to the mistakes and negligence of the management of many colleges.
The university has said that the results were withheld as the colleges had failed to submit the required documents after getting them certified by the admission committee of the university.
University sources said that many private BEd colleges in the region had admitted students through the management quota without bothering to adhere to the rules chalked out by the admission committee and the director of higher education. Some colleges had also admitted students over and above their approved capacity, with many admissions violating all the rules. The varsity has kept the results of all such students on hold.
There are a total BEd 41 colleges affiliated to the university, out of which four are run by the government and have complied with all the rules. There are six other colleges which have followed all the rules while giving admission to students, hence results of these colleges have been declared. All the remaining colleges have discrepancies in admissions.
Examination controller of SGAU BR Waghmare confirmed the news to TOI and said results of around 1,200 students have been kept on hold as their admissions were not according to rule. The results of all the students will be given as soon as the colleges submit the documents regarding the admission of these students after getting them certified by the admission committee and director of higher education, Waghmare said.
