107 fresh swine flu cases

One hundred and seven fresh cases of A(H1N1) influenza have been reported from across the country with Mumbai accounting for 29, Delhi and Hyderabad 13 each, Bangalore (9), Kolkata (6), Ahmedabad, Surat and Gurgaon (5 each), Pune and Osmanabad (4 each), Nanded, Srinagar, Goa, Mangalore and Nagpur (2 each), Dhule, Nasik, Latur and Panchkula one each.

The viral infection has claimed 21 lives in the country so far. Pune has seen 13 deaths, Mumbai 2, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Vadodara, Nasik, Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore one each.

The total number of swine flu-positive cases is 1,390, of which 742 have been treated.

Of the 29 new cases reported from Mumbai, 28 are indigenous ones. The 29th case is a seven-year-old who had travelled from the U.K. All the four cases reported from Pune are indigenous. Of the 13 cases reported from Delhi, 11 are indigenous, while the rest have a travel history. Eight patients reported from Hyderabad are indigenous while the remaining had travelled abroad.
