Nagpur: south Africa is on top in the first test match against India in Nagpur, thanks to a double hundred by Hashim Amla. Amla scored his first double century in test cricket, while Kallis made 173.South Africa were on 454/4, when reports last received.
Earlier, South Africa resumed from their overnight score of 291/2 and lost the third wicket on 346. Kallis and Amla added 340 runs for the third wicket. Amla is batting on 203, while De Villiers was out 53.
For India, Zaheer Khan has taken 2 wickets, while Harbhajan and Sehwag took one wicket each. The Proteas are now looking for a score in excess of 700 and put pressure on the injury-hit Indian batting line-up.
