NAGPUR NEWS :- Mishaps claim two lives

Fatal accidents claimed the lives of two persons on Friday in separate incidents. A biker sped away after fatally injuring a Scooty rider

on Jaitala Road while a cyclist was knocked down at Lakadganj by a trucker.

The Scooty rider, Kishor Gidh (48), was learnt to be heading towards his residence at Jaitala when a biker dashed into him from behind. A seriously injured Gidh was rushed to a private hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, a cyclist died on the spot after he was hit by a truck on Bhandara Road. Lakadganj police rushed to the site of accident after being informed. The body was taken to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital for post mortem.

Newborn baby found

A newborn baby was found lying in the staircase of Vardan Child Welfare trusts office located at Bajaj Nagar on Thursday night. Pallavi Padole, deputy director of the institute, spotted the infant and informed the police. Padole has taken the responsibility of taking care of the toddler at the welfare institute. Ambazari police have registered a case against unidentified persons and are further investigating the matter.

Ruckus in red light area

A 21-year-old was stabbed with a knife in the red light area over a trivial issue on Thursday night. The victim has been identified as Lakhan Raut (21), a resident of Bhande Plot, Sakkardara. According to the cops, Raut and another unidentified accused were under the influence of alcohol and fought with each other over some minor matter. One of the miscreants stabbed the victim in the stomach with a knife. The injured person was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital. Lakadganj police have registered a case and further investigations are under way.

Crime Branch cops nab one for fraud

Crime Branch sleuths had arrested a 23-year-old on Friday afternoon for driving a truck using forged papers. The accused, Charanjeet alias Mahendra Singh Sur (23), a truck driver, a resident of Ashok Chowk, Pachpaoli, is reported to have prepared forged documents of the vehicle, showing them to be of Raipur RTO.

The truck was owned by Hardeosingh Randhwa, a resident of New Indora, who had given the truck on rent to Charanjeet. He made an altered copy of the documents from the Xerox centre at Kamal Chowk. The owner of the xerox centre, Dinesh Itankar, too has been arrested by the cops. The truck worth Rs 6,10,000 and a xerox machine along with other materials worth Rs 36,500 were also seized by the cops. The arrests were made by additional CP Kishore Jadhav, CP Dabhade, HC Pramod Shaniwar and others.
