state chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad told media on Thursday that a ban on slaughter will go a long way in the development of the country as Indian economy is mainly based on agriculture of which cow is a part and parcel.
Activists of Go-Gram Yatra will get 50 crore signatures in support of the demand during its 20,000 km tour all over the country that started from Kurukshetra on September 30. The yatra that began under the auspices of Vishwa Mangal Gau-Gram Yatra will culminate at Nagpur on January 17.
Walia said that the yatra is expected to pass through Gondia district on January 12. A huge conglomeration has been organised at Deori on that day where rallies from all over Gondia district will reach with lakhs of signatures supporting the cause. Walia said that the institution has scientific research centre at Devlapar near Nagpur which has developed 35 medicines for various diseases prepared from the milk, curd, ghee, urine and dung of the cow.
Others preset on the occasion were district chief of RSS Indrarao Larokar, Gondia chief Ram Tol, Sanjay Marwade, convenor, Madhusudan Agrawal, Ayudas Gupta, Hemant Bopche and Chandrashekhar Joshi.
